Overview

Merger X is a no-code NFT builder built on the Solana blockchain, designed to help creators generate and launch NFT collections without writing code or hiring developers.

The product targets artists, creators, and collectors who want to create, manage, and mint NFT collections while maintaining full control over rarity, metadata, and royalties.

Market & competitive context

Most tools favoured technical users

We reviewed existing no-code and NFT creation platforms to understand common patterns, gaps, and friction points. Most tools either favoured technical users or exposed too much blockchain complexity, making them difficult for non-technical creators to use.

These insights influenced our focus on progressive disclosure, autosave, simplified rarity controls, and team-based royalty distribution.

Mapping the path from art to mint

Given the complexity of NFT creation, mapping a clear user flow was critical to ensure users could complete the process without confusion or drop-off.

Progressive disclosure over complexity

Rather than overwhelming users with blockchain complexity, we focused on progressive disclosure — showing only what users need at each stage of the creation process.

These decisions were driven by usability testing and early user feedback.

The interface was designed to feel familiar and structured, even for users new to Web3 products.

Outcome & learnings

Designing usable products in complex domains

While Merger X was an early-stage product, the project reinforced several key lessons.

This project strengthened my ability to design usable products in technically complex domains and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Merger X represents my early experience designing for Web3 products, with a strong focus on usability, clarity, and accessibility. The project laid a foundation for my later work on complex systems such as e-commerce platforms, dashboards, and payment products.
